Depending on factors such as household size, income, and allowable deductions, SNAP payments may differ from family to family.

For instance, a family of three with no income may be eligible for up to $740 in benefits each month or $440 if the family makes $1,000 in net monthly income.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply for food stamps in Oklahoma?

Any DHS office is a good place to apply for SNAP and other programs. You can submit an online application at OK Benefits if you’ve ever had a DHS case number. When you apply for SNAP, you must go through a DHS employee interview and respond to some additional eligibility questions, either in person or over the phone.

If you qualify, you’ll receive benefits in the form of an “Access Oklahoma EBT” card, which you can use to purchase approved foods at Farmers’ Markets and authorized retail food establishments.

How can I obtain food assistance for emergencies in Oklahoma?

On the day the application is submitted, emergency eligibility is checked on all SNAP applications. Families that qualify for emergency SNAP will receive their initial payments within seven days or less if they make less than $150 per month and have at most $100 in cash.

Can I use my Oklahoma EBT card in another state?

Yes. Your SNAP benefits can be accessed with an EBT card; you can use it anywhere that accepts EBT in the United States, including the District of Columbia, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
