How long does it take to receive food stamps in North Carolina?

You will be notified of your eligibility within 30 days after submitting your application and information verification. You may receive “expedited benefits” in some emergency situations within seven days.  A simplified form of Regular Food and Nutrition Services (FNS), the Simplified Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP), may be available to seniors receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) who are 65 years of age or older.
